Melvin Lindsey

Melvin Lindsey is President, Southeast, for Amerigroup, an Anthem company. In this role, he creates and implements statewide strategic plans, consisting of grassroots efforts, community organizing, statewide lobbying, and participation in initiatives related to Commercial, Medicaid and Medicare healthcare. Mel has additional oversight of business development in Southeastern States and all Government Relations efforts. During his tenure with the Company, Lindsey has played a significant role in assisting Georgia in its efforts to improve and enhance its Medicaid program, including moving Georgia toward a mandatory managed care enrollment system.

Prior to joining Amerigroup in 2000, Lindsey held various executive positions in the with leading publicly traded companies in the health care industry, including corporate vice president of Managed Care at Elder Health. Lindsey received his Masters of Health Administration from Governors State University in University Park, Ill
