Steve Foster

Steve Foster is the Senior Urban Advisor for Georgia Power’s Community Development Organization. He has worked for Georgia Power for 34 years, originally joining the company as an Engineering Associate in the Generating Plant Construction Department, before being promoted to roles at Plant Scherer and Plant Vogtle. Steve worked on numerous special projects and served as a loaned executive to the Georgia Research Alliance, and later to Central Atlanta Progress as interim Vice President of Economic Development. His role in Economic Development had him working with numerous partners such as City of Atlanta, assisting existing businesses with expansion projects and helping cities and communities with economic development, business retention and quality growth strategies.

Steve represents Georgia Power on numerous boards and community organizations such as Georgia Biomedical Partnership, Georgia Association of Water Professionals, the Livable Communities Coalition and the Urban Land Institute, Atlanta Medical Center and is a member of Lambda Alpha International, an honorary land economics society. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and is a 2003 graduate of Leadership Midtown, a 2007 graduate of the Regional Leadership Institute and an Instructor for the Georgia Academy for Economic Development. Steve is married with three grown children. He and his wife, Sherie, live in Marietta.
