Stan Klaus

Stan Klaus was a founding member of the Board of Trustees and a strong supporter of Thanks Mom & Dad Fund(r) until his untimely death in 2015.  He was owner and Vice-President of Operations for Slim Chickens franchise in Tennessee at the time of his death.  Stan was previously President of the Applebee’s Division of AppleCreek Management Co., Inc. for many years where he oversaw all aspects of Applebee’s casual dining restaurants including staffing of management teams, human resources, marketing, site development, profit and loss for restaurants, supervision of multi-unit management, purchasing of all equipment, food and beverage, public relations and menu development. Stan was also cofounder and principal in Up the Creek Seafood Grill Restaurants, Up the Creek Restaurants of Georgia, LLC, and Up the Creek Restaurants of America LLC involved with franchising the Up the Creek concept. His charitable activities included fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Georgia and past supporter of the Mayor’s Walk Atlanta Georgia.

Stan was a great family man and an engaged member of his Church and the community in which he lived.  He is remembered fondly by the Thanks Mom & Dad Fund(r) organization and many others whose lives he touched.
